Lexington KY - 11-14-09
Hey Ya'll.. I just wanted to post a lil review for Lexington KY.. I didn't see one started yet, and was surprised, so I thought I'd give one.
I started out with General Admission Tickets, But I had to trade them in because I've got terrible back problems and knew I wouldn't be able to stand the whole time. I ended up with pretty decent seats to have traded them only 2 hrs before show time.
I got in the arena about 7:30, my cousin Hillary had meet n greet, so she went to that and I found our seats. Probably as soon as I sat down the guy behind me said "I hope he doesn't suck Live, or i'll be pissed" I thought to myself Dont worry you will not be disappointed and I think he left thoroughly happy!
As it got closer to 8 i was beginning to wonder if the place was going to fill up or not. Gloriana took the stage, and I am such a fan! They have great vocals and great songs! I'd definitely recommend seeing them Live. The guys in the band didn't move at all, but the girls were all over the stage, mainly Rachel. I really enjoyed their set!
We didn't have to wait long for DB to take the stage.. by the time he came on the place was pretty much full, and everyone went crazy. Out of all the shows I've been to, this was only the second time that I have not been in the pit, and basically front row. Being a ways back didn't bother me a bit, I enjoyed the show just as much. I have to say this was by far the best DB show I've seen.. all his shows have been great, but this was the best so far..his vocals were amazing, and he's so full of energy. He worries me with all the running around he does, I thought for sure he or Rod were going to fall, and bust their butts, thankfully they didnt, this time! haha Being further back, I realized I could see a whole lot more of what was going on, instead of mainly focusing on just Dierks, I could see everything going on, on the stage at once. The videos they played during the set was awesome, the lighting was great, it all really went off without a hitch!
Where I was sitting there were two couples sitting right next to each other, and the whole show they basically mauled each other the whole time, it was distracting and disgusting, but you couldn't help but laugh, There was staff member that helps with tickets during the show who, I swear to you, fell asleep, I saw his head nodding off a few times, about to fall off his chair! It was funny! Another staff member was gettin down to DB's music...
I got the whole experience from not being up front.. If and when I get my back problems situated, there's no doubt I'll be in the pit again with every chance I get, but I really enjoyed the show just as much if not more from being further back...I dont think there was a bad seat in that place though.. When DB went to the cat walk with Tim and Rod, and did a few songs, the place went crazy...singing, dancing, stompin..it was awesome to see and hear! I know when I'm up front I know its loud, but I was actually able to hear ppl sing back his songs and it was amazing, and I think he was really Humbled that night. I always hate to leave a DB show, because the withdrawls set in right after..so now I'm just waiting for 2010 shows to come around...can't come soon enough!
I hope everyone that went had just as much fun as me! I didn't ge to meet any FC members other than David at the show, but I know they were there in full force!
