Dierks Returns to Number 1 with Sideways

Bentley Chases Superstar Keith Urban for Most Radio Spins By A Male Artist This Year

NASHVILLE, TN - June 29, 2009 - Multi-platinum country music star Dierks Bentley's summer party anthem "Sideways" overtakes the No. one spot this week on Billboard's Country Singles Chart.  "Sideways" is the award-winning vocalist's second consecutive No. one hit off his white-hot No. one album FEEL THAT FIRE.  It also marks his seventh career No. one hit.

"We've been kicking our show off with 'Sideways' and it gets the party started quickly! Thanks to all the fans that have fun, get wild and a little 'sideways' during our show because we feed off of that energy," says Bentley.  "I can't wait for the No. one party for this one! I always said that this song would sound best blasting through boat speakers. We might just need to celebrate out at Party Cove!"

According to Country Aircheck's mid-year airplay report, Bentley trails only megastar Keith Urban as the most played male artist on country radio so far this year. Bentley's undeniable appeal has garnered the attention of national media outlets with MSN's prediction that Bentley is "poised to reach country's most elite level," and this week Forbes named Bentley to its Top 10 list of "Next Breakout Stars" based on likeability and awareness.

Bentley recently performed "Sideways" on The Ellen Degeneres Show, The Bonnie Hunt Show, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and the CMT Music Awards.   The Phoenix-native is currently crisscrossing the country with Brad Paisley on his "American Saturday Night" tour.
